11:30 am Leaving Barbara’s for Virginia 7 pm Arrived in Massanutten, VA. The timeshare looks new and clean. 8:30 pm Dinner at Applebee’s.Monday 9/10/2018
11:45 am Leave the timeshare 1 pm Lunch at Burger King. Garmin took us on back roads from timeshare to Luray. Very pretty country. Interesting sights. 1:20 pm We are at Luray Caverns. 2:10 pm We finished with the caverns and are heading to the History Museum. 3:11 pm John makes a friend while Barbara is in the gift shop. 3:18 pm Walking the grounds. 3:22 pm The Blacksmith Shop (circa 1850). 3:25 pm Hamburgh African-American School house (circa 1885). 3:34 pm Elk Run Meeting House (circa 1800) 3:39 pm Bell House (circa 1835). 3:45 pm Burner Barn (circa 1860). 3:49 pm Corn Crib (circa 1860). 3:52 pm The Rev. Bernard Willy House (circa 1760) 3:55 pm The Stonyman Mining Co. 6:05 pm We stopped at Food Lion for supplies for the week. 7:30 pm Dinner at Golden Corral in Harrisonburg, VA. 8:45 pm Back at the timeshare and in for the night.Tuesday 9/11/2018
6 am We woke up to the alarm. 7:30 am Leaving timeshare for a busy day. 8:45 am Just finished breakfast at IHOP in Harrisonburg (about 20 minutes from the timeshare). 9:45 am We arrived at Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton, VA. We found out that due to hurricane warnings for this area the museum is open but they are planning on closing Early and storm preparations are already starting. 10:00 am 1740’s farm 10:10 am Indians 10:20 am 1820’s farm 10:53 am 1840’s schoolhouse 10:32 am 1850’s farm. 10:58 am 1850’s house 11:25 am Afro-American church 11:37 am 1700’s German farm Noon 1700’s Irish Farm 12:30 pm 1700’s Irish forge 1:00 pm 1600’s English farm & house 1:36 pm 1700’s West African farm 2:40 pm At truck after a run thru the gift shop. 4:45 pm Back at timeshare.Wednesday 9/12/2018
9:40 am Packed and leaving timeshare early due to hurricane Florence headed this way and forecast to bring flooding type rains and high winds. 11:45 am Stopped in West Virginia at a Cracker Barrel for lunch. The End
